Arum are also known as Winter Caladiums. In late June they produce a jack-in-the-pulpit type flower. The plants then disappear in the summer and in the autumn shoot up stalks of showy bright orange berries followed by beautiful arrow-shaped leaves that remain green all winter. Arums are mostly grown for their attractive leaves and colorful (but poisonous) berries. Excellent grown in woodland gardens or in shady borders.
